February 2021 work, comic submission for Diam-diam Ubi Berisi competition.
Experimenting colours and mood.
.
While this submission didn't receive a nomination or selection, I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to the competition. Despite the lack of feedback from the host, I've reflected on my work independently:
One aspect highlighted was the absence of a traditional 'main character' type of vibe. The theme centered around the challenges faced by entrepreneurs during Covid, but I chose to depict the less conventional struggles of a regular 9-6 hour worker and the slow-boring reality during pandemic. My intention was to showcase the subtle (and possibly be forgotten after pandemic) and often overlooked impacts of the pandemic on individuals in different roles and maturity, as I believe that every struggle human faced is valid and unique of their own even if just by conversation. I recognize that this may not be my strongest piece, I was testing the waters, and while it may not resonate with everyone, I value the learning experience and remain open to creating new and diverse stories in the future.
